The public sector is faced with important challenges and addressing these often requires procurement transformations. Public procurement driven innovation opens markets for industry/researchers creating growth and jobs locally and within Europe.
Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) is designed to steer the development of solutions towards concrete public sector needs. Under Horizon 2020, the EU increases support for groups of public procurers who work together on joint Pre-Commercial Procurements.
The 2016/2017 Horizon 2020 PCP work programme is offering a 90% funding rate and success rates can be as high as 75%. Our recent event held on 24th February was dedicated to showcasing PCP within Horizon 2020. Our keynote speaker on the day was Vassilis Tsanidis from the EC, a PCP expert whose presentation left the audience armed with all the information they required to maximise the opportunity for a collaborative approach to the calls within the PCP work.
Delegates also heard from Pat Doyle (Invest NI) and Eoin McFadden (DETI) who have a wealth of local knowledge when it comes to PCP’s and Small Business Research Initiatives (SBRI’s). View presentations below:
