Equality
InterTradeIreland - Trade and Business Development Body (the Body), in
carrying out its functions, powers and duties in Northern Ireland, is fully
committed to the fulfilment of its obligation to have due regard to the need to
promote equality of opportunity, as required under Section 75 and Schedule 9 of
the Northern Ireland Act 1998.
The Body will also have regard to the desirability of promoting good relations
between people of different religious belief, political opinion and racial group.
This Equality Scheme sets out how InterTradeIreland proposes to fulfil these
obligations when carrying out all its functions, powers and duties relating to
Northern Ireland.
The Body is committed to allocating necessary resources (in terms of people,
time and money) and in taking all necessary steps to ensure that the statutory
duties are complied with.
Internal arrangements will be put in place to ensure that all its workers are
conscious of the need to implement this Scheme and duties are effectively
complied with and that progress is monitored and reviewed. The Body is
committed to the development and delivery of a planned programme of
communication and training on the Equality Scheme.
