The Shannon Consortium Procurement Network is a collaborative framework, between UL,LIT,MIC and ITT. It will create a regional strategic alliance for procuring goods and services. ESB Networks Ltd., a ring fenced subsidiary within ESB Group, is the licensed operator of the electricity distribution system in the Republic of Ireland. ESB Networks Ltd. is responsible for building, operating, maintaining and developing the electricity network and serving all electricity customers in the Republic of Ireland. As Meter Operator, we install, maintain and read all electricity meters. We have available a 3,000 strong workforce throughout the country.

We are responsible for constructing all the sub-transmission, medium and low voltage electricity network infrastructure in the country and for managing this infrastructure which is owned by ESB. The electricity distribution network includes all distribution stations, overhead electricity lines, poles and underground cables that are used to bring power to Ireland's 2 million domestic, commercial and industrial customers. For electricity supplied at Low Voltage by ESB Networks, the nominal standard is 230/400 Volts, 50Hz.. ESB Networks undertakes to deliver single phase electricity within a voltage range of 207 Volts to 253 Volts.

This is in accordance with European Standard EN50160. ESB Networks manages the transmission assets which are owned by ESB and ensures that the transmission infrastructure is developed and maintained in accordance with the requirements set down by Eirgrid.

CPD assists a wide range of Departments, Agencies and Non-Departmental public Bodies to deliver both capital and grant funded construction projects.

These construction projects include: office accommodation, college facilities, workshops, laboratories, forest facilities, factories, storage facilities, amenity facilities, sports facilities, arts facilities, historic buildings, business/industrial units, site/park/estates roadways, harbour or other marine developments, landscaping, public realm and regeneration schemes.

Services

Consultants will normally be appointed as Integrated Consultant Teams to take projects forward from the client’s initial statement of requirements through strategic assessment, business justification and outline design stage, to completion of the works. Dependent on the nature of the project, teams may include the following disciplines: - Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Architect, Building Services Engineer, Civil Engineer, Structural Engineer, Landscape Architect and CDM Co-ordinator.

Detailed design and construction will normally be undertaken by the appointment of Integrated Supply Teams consisting of contractors, specialist sub-contractors, designers and their supply chains.
 Vocational Education Committees (VECs)  VEC’s are statutory education authorities which have responsibility for vocational educational training, youth work and a range of other functions. VEC’s also manage and operate second level schools, further education colleges, pilot community primary schools and a range of adult and further education centres delivering education and training programmes to all sectors of the communities served by the VECs.

  • Advice on potential opportunities for Desertcreat, the new joint services training college in Cookstown, which has just been given Ministerial approval from the NI Executive. The construction project is worth approximately £139m.
