Wednesday 30.01.08
Earlier today, around 100 participants representing over 80 companies from the Newry Dundalk region attended a Cross Border Speed Networking Event hosted by Newry Chamber of Commerce & Trade in conjunction with Dundalk Chamber of Commerce in the Carrickdale Hotel.
In this unique, fast-paced and exciting business-networking event, attendees were allocated 3 minutes in which to network with a fellow participant before a bell rang signally them to move onto the next 3-minute meeting with another company. Master of Ceremonies, Mr Paul McCormack, of Border Vision ensured that the event ran smoothly, on-time and was entertaining for all participating.
Ms Orla Jackson, Chief Executive, Newry Chamber of Commerce & Trade stated, this is the second year we ran this event and it has proved to be very successful with all attendees making excellent contacts and some even securing lucrative business deals. Ms Jackson added, I am delighted with the attendance, I put this down to feedback from the 2007 event which was a phenomenal success, some Newry companies reported the value of contracts earned as a result of event ranging from £2k to £20k not bad for a mornings networking! With 30% more people attending and a wider range of participating companies, we expect attendees to get even more out of this years event
InterTradeIreland once again sponsored this cross border event. Speaking after the event, Mr Paddy Savage from InterTradeIreland stated thatSuccess in business today depends on making the right connections. Events such as these give local small businesses the opportunity to network to make these connections and discuss mutual opportunities.
InterTradeIreland is happy to be involved again this year.'
