Want to cut your distribution costs?

The Logistics XP programme could help businesses – regardless of size – to cut distribution costs by as much as 10%. In a new approach to distribution, the project aims to demonstrate where opportunities exist for collaboration between participating companies in both Ireland and Northern Ireland. A pilot scheme identified savings ranging from 5% to 20%, or £45,000-£250,000 per company not to mention revenue generating opportunities with an estimated value of £500,000....

Report Shows 324,000 Entrepreneurs on Island

Entrepreneurship in Island of Ireland published today, 25th November 2005, by InterTradeIreland in conjunction with Enterprise Ireland and Invest Northern Ireland, shows that there are 324,000 entrepreneurs on the island. Of these 253,000 are based in Ireland and 71,000 in Northern Ireland. These figures include owner managers of existing companies and new entrepreneurs – those with young companies (42 months) and those in the process of setting up enterprises....


NI Seedcorn Winners Reap Rewards!

Belfast’s Mail Distiller and Nvolve from Castlederg have each won £13,400 (€20,000) as the Belfast and Northern Ireland regional winners of the third All-Island Seedcorn Business Competition 2005, and will go forward to compete for an overall prize of €100,000 in the grand final on December 6th. Organised by InterTradeIreland’s Equity Network, the competition, which has a total prize fund of £155,000 (€230,000), received hundreds of expressions of interest from ventures all over Ireland and Mail Distiller and Nvolve were selected from a shortlist of six Northern Ireland companies....

Kim Robinson of Red Dog has won the Grand Prix at the 2005 Institute of Designers in Ireland Awards for her Concern Worldwide Annual Report design. Lar Burke appointed as Project Manager for new Business Angels Partnership

Insight Out initiative launched

The University of Ulster is looking for 12 of Northern Ireland’s up and coming creative innovators to take part in a pioneering training programme for the creative industries. Called ‘Insight Out,’ the programme will offer up to twelve Northern Ireland-based graduates who have left from either an FE or HE institution in the last three years the chance to be part of a five week long initiative, designed to help them develop their own creative business....


Trade Statistics Web Site Launched

On 28th June 2005, InterTradeIreland launched a trade statistics website which enables access to a range of comparable data on trade and production for Northern Ireland, Ireland and composite all-island data in the form of statistics, charts, and interactive graphs. It also provides a range of views from industry specialists, North and South, allows access to a range of trade-related publications, and links to useful statistical web sites....


SENATOR MITCHELL HONORS FIFTH CLASS OF SCHOLARS

The fifth class of George J. Mitchell Scholars received their class rings from Senator Mitchell at a reception at the Linen Hall Library on Wed 6th July. The reception was sponsored by InterTrade Ireland, with in-kind donations from the Hastings Hotels, Chateau de la Ligne, and Hot Irishman. The rings were specially designed for the Scholars and were a gift from Cross Atlantic Capital Partners....


INTERTRADEIRELAND CALLS FOR GOVERNMENT BACKED ALL-ISLAND CONSTRUCTION FORUM
