Entrepreneur of The Year 2004

Details : Twenty-four entrepreneurs have been short listed from the 140 plus nominations received by the Programmes Judging Panel, Chaired by Denis O’Brien, for the coveted Award of Ireland’s Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2004 - to be decided in September and broadcast on RTE One television at the equivalent of the ‘Oscars for business’ attended by some 1,000 banquet guests. Previous winners were Denis O’Brien (1998), Moya Doherty & John McColgan (1999), Eddie Jordan (2000), Martin McVicar (2001), Padraig O’Ceidigh (2002) and Liam Shanahan (2003)

The entrepreneurs this year hail from both North and South of the Island; with 11 businesses located in Dublin, 2 in Belfast 2 in Cork, 2 in Galway, 2 in Kilkenny and a business venture located respectively in Antrim, Louth, , Meath, Wexford and Kerry. A wide range of business activity is represented – agribusiness, e-business, manufacturing & retailing of healthcare technologies & products, electronic equipment, housing, construction, food & drinks, equine breeding & tourism and software development.
