Closing Date for Seedcorn Competition Entries @

A reminder that the closing date for entries for the Seedcorn Competition is the 30th September.
The competition is open to individuals or groups of individuals based on the island of Ireland. The business venture must not be in existence for more than three years at 30th September 2004. The compeition is aimed at new, independent ventures to be established on the island in the seed, start up or early stages of their development. entrants should have started, manage and own such a venture. Ventures which have already raised private equity in excell of 1m/£700,000 Stg are not eligible.
The prizes:
The All-Island winner will receive a prize of 100,000 with six regional winners receiving 20,000. This year there is also a discretionary award of 10,000 for ventures stemming from university spin-outs and platform programmes.
