Network & Getwork - Meet The Food Buyer
Date : Tuesday 20.06.06
Details : The Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Cork Chamber of Commerce have joined forces to bring you a forum aimed at introducing companies to procurement decision makers in a number of large organisations throughout the island as part of the InterTradeIreland Network+Getwork Sectors programme.
The first event under the Network+Getwork Sectors programme is aimed at suppliers to the Food industry. The Food Supplier Group will consist of a network of 30 companies (SMEs) from across the island who regularly supply into the Food industry or companies who wish to break into the market for the first time. The buyers involved will be from the retail, hospitality or catering industries.
So What’s New?
NICCI recognises that suppliers often have their own ideas about target buyers, so the difference in this Network+Getwork sector-focused programme is that you, the supplier, will have an input into which buying organisations are present at the meet the buyer event.
Why A Food Supplier Group?
The aim of the Food Supplier Group is to target big projects on the horizon. Although events like the Ryder cup in September in 2006 or Olympics in 2012 seem far away, companies will have more strength and expertise to bid for business through co-operation as groups than as individuals.
An added benefit to these Network + Getwork Sectors is that it will allow consultation between members of the supplier group to compare notes and exchange industry information.
The Food Supply Group is designed to encourage collaboration and co-operation between companies who wish to start or increase exports to Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland.
