This event will focus on the process of reform in the Public Service.

Details of the event are as follows:
Presentation Title: ‘Strategy in the Public Sector’
Guest Speaker: Eoin Daly, Partner, McKinsey & Co, London www.mckinseys.com .

Eoin joined McKinsey in 1999 and primarily serves clients in the public sector, including Government Departments and state owned enterprises. Since joining McKinsey Eoin has also spent a year on secondment to the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit which was established in 2001. Prior to joining McKinsey, Eoin worked for several years as a strategy consultant in telecoms in Asia and Latin America. He has a BComm and an MBS from University College Dublin, and in 1995 he was awarded the Sir Charles Harvey Award for academic excellence.

Focus: Eoin’s presentation will set out some of the challenges in developing strategy in the public sector, describe how public sector reforms address some of those challenges and suggest ways in which senior managers in the public sector could improve the quality of strategy development and implementation in their organisations.
