WITS Re-Enter Workshops @

The new WITS | Re-Enter programme was launched by the Minister for Enterprise Trade and Employment Mr. Micheál Martin T.D.on Wednesday February 20, 2008.

The Re-Enter programme is an all-Island pilot programme. The programme is open to 20 women from across the island and will feature a 10-week online course delivered by the Open University, starting on 1st May 2008. Participants will also benefit from mentoring, networking and an internship in industry where appropriate. The course is geared to people returning to a career in science, engineering or technology and will work on a range of skills, including CV development, exploring new trends in the industry and planning future career goals.

Information and Recruitment Workshops

The information and recruitment workshops are aimed at women who are interested in participating in the Re-Enter programme. The workshop is the first step in the process to recruit 20 participants onto the programme and to gather data as input to the initial report to be published in April.

The purpose of the workshop is :

· to outline the structure, content and timelines of the Re-Enter programme

· to give details of the application process

· to outline the selection process and criteria

· to outline the requirements to participate in the programme

· to gather initial data for the first Re-Enter Report on Women in SET not currently in the workforce
