This timely seminar will bring together stakeholders and policymakers to consider the future for apprenticeship provision in Northern Ireland. Delegates will examine the implementation of the Apprenticeship Levy - along with its impact on employers - and on the delivery of the Securing our Success and Generating our Success strategies, as well as Departmental priorities for the future.
Those attending will also discuss how apprenticeships fit into the aims of the industrial strategy - including higher level apprenticeships, and for industries targeted for growth by the Strategic Advisory Forum and skills barometer - as well as how to best promote apprenticeships as an attractive option for young people.
Further sessions will look at the priorities for raising standards in apprenticeships, including the role of inspectors, providers and learning institutions in promoting excellence in qualifications - including through enhanced collaboration - and the latest thinking on ensuring that qualifications are of high quality, are flexible and of relevance to the needs of young people and the wider economy.
A keynote address will be delivered by Michael Gould, Assistant Director of the Youth Policy Division, Department for the Economy.
One delegate place including delegate materials and refreshments.
One PDF copy of the briefing document. (including transcripts of the speeches, questions and comments, as well as extra articles submitted by delegates, which is distributed to all attendees approximately twelve working days after the seminar).
