The Bank of Ireland (BoI) has awarded a significant contract to a University of Limerick spin-out specialising in energy management and cost control software. Under the deal, valued at close to €500,000, ResourceKraft has installed its cost-cutting Energy Advisor software in more than 300 Bank of Ireland branches.
The company will extend the so-called Energy and Carbon Management System (ECMS) to 50 further administrative sites. When completed, it is expected to cut BoI's energy and water costs by 8-10 per cent annually.
