InterTradeIreland Venture Capital Conference

Conference Highlights 2011

The tenth InterTradeIreland Venture Capital Conference took place in the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Dublin on 7th April 2011.  Held in association with Kernel Capital, the event brought together 270 attendees from across business with investors who have access to over €250 million available for new ventures. The main focus of the event was to assist companies to build world class venture backed businesses.

The conference was formally opened by the Minister for Enterprise, Jobs and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD and was chaired by well known Irish economist, George Lee.   The keynote speaker was Paul Kerley, founder and former CEO of Norkom Technologies, the leading provider of financial crime and compliance solutions to the global financial services industry. Paul successfully led the recent acquisition of Norkom Technologies by BAE Systems for €217 million.

A panel of experts made up of representatives of the island's active venture capital funds answered queries from delegates.  Representatives from the business angel community were also in attendance and shared their knowledge about Business Angel Syndication.
