Michael Murphy, BA (Mod), FCA is a graduate in Economics from Trinity College Dublin, and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. He has 14 years experience in the private equity industry as a senior investment executive with Nadcorp from 1987-1991 and as Chief Executive of NCB Ventures since 1997. He was elected Chairman of the Irish Venture Capital Association in 2003/04 and has been a director of the Association since 1998. He was also a director of the European Venture Capital Association in 2003/04.
In addition to private equity, and professional accountancy experience he was a finance director in the period 1992-1997 in a start-up manufacturing company, and with the international consultancy company IDI. He has therefore obtained wide venture capital and industrial experience, in both the public and private sectors, with particular focus on SMEs.
